What’s this Challenge All About? This is a friendly business challenge that fosters inclusion for our Captains in our community and encourages "wellness with a purpose" for employees in local businesses. This program allows you to be a part of a Captains' journey to get involved in the community, to develop deep friendships with physically-limited individuals, and to participate in an awesome endurance event right in your community! Our Captains can do anything. They just need your support!
Here’s How it Works The business desiring to participate in the challenge will develop a team of three employees to serve as Angels during the challenge. The business will then email us at "email@example.com" to register. We will select an interested Captain and provide the business with their contact information. The business will then schedule a time for the Captain to visit their business and have the three Angels include their Captain in a daily business task. The night before the race, the Angels and their Captain will attend a Pre-Race Dinner with the rest of the "myTEAM TRIUMPH - Georgia" staff, Captains, Angels, and Volunteers The challenge will culminate with all Captains and Angels competing shoulder-to-shoulder with the rest of the community in a local endurance event.
It's as easy as 1 - 2 - 3 - 4.
1) Inclusion at a Local Business When Captains visit the businesses, the Angels will include their Captain in a daily business task. The only limit to the possibilities for inclusion is your creativity! For example:
Medical offices - Captains can wear a white coat, listen to a patient’s heartbeat, and take blood pressures
Grocery stores - Captains can scan groceries at checkout or help stock the shelves
Churches - Captains can direct the choir, preach at the pulpit, or greet guests before the sermon with the pastor
Law Office or Bank - Captains can ceremoniously shake hands to confirm a contract, deal, or loan agreement
Angels will take a video or pictures of their Captain being included in the business tasks! Points to include in the video or the post: Name of the business, name of the three Angels participating, name of the Captain, name of our organization - "myTEAM TRIUMPH - Georgia," the name of the challenge: The "Differently-Abled" Business Challenge, the race in which you will be participating, and footage of the Captain completing the business task!
2) $100 Team Fundraising Commitment - Once a team signs up for the "Differently-Abled" Business Challenge, the team will receive a fundraising page for "myTEAM TRIUMPH - Georgia." Add your video, talk about your experience, and share this fundraising page on social media with family, friends, and customers! Funds raised allow our Captains and Angels the opportunity to participate in endurance events and support equipment purchases for "myTEAM TRIUMPH - Georgia."
2) Pre-Race Dinner The night before the race, the Angels will attend a Pre-Race Dinner with their Captain and the rest of the myTEAM TRIUMPH - Georgia staff and participants. This is a great networking opportunity with other local businesses throughout Columbus, an encouraging night for inclusion, and a great chance to "carb-load" before the big race.
3) Race Day The three Angels will serve as the legs for their Captains in the local, upcoming endurance race by assisting them on race morning, running the race with their Captain, and triumphing across the race finish line together! Details of race day will be provided via email prior to the race start.
This challenge is great opportunity for businesses to showcase their philanthropy . It also allows "myTEAM TRIUMPH - Georgia" to gain media exposure and lets our Captains to experience all this world has to offer.
