What is a Captain? "Captains" are the individuals with a desire to participate in endurance sports, but with physical-limitations that make this difficult independently. Captains are supported through the endurance events by their team of "Angels," which are able-bodied individuals that assist the Captains. Each Captain is the VIP for the day. Everything that we do revolves around the Captain and their experience in the events.
What’s it like being a Captain? You are in for an awesome experience! You are our top priority. We host an "Pre-Race Dinner” before each race, and we hope you and your family will join us for this. When you arrive on race morning, you will be given your race-entry packet, the race bib, the race t-shirt, and you will join your team of Angels. Then it’s a jog to the start line, the sound of a horn, and off you’ll go! Once you cross the finish line, you’ll meet back with us for a recognition/medal ceremony.
How do I register as a Captain for a specific event? To get started, visit our "Upcoming Events" tab, select your regions, and register for the event(s) you would like to participate in through our website! That's it! You will receive an email confirmation once you sign up! DO NOT REGISTER through the official race website for any race. "myTEAM TRIUMPH - Georgia" will take care of the rest!
What else do I need to know about being a Captain? With the help of our fundraisers and sponsors, "myTEAM TRIUMPH - Georgia" is able to provide racing experiences at NO COST to the Captains. As long as you can get to the event, we take care of everything else. We host regular training events prior to the racing event, provide the equipment at training and racing events, and sponsor the entry fee for Captains at our racing events. "myTEAM TRIUMPH - Georgia" recommends that Captains obtain permission from their physician prior to racing. Families and caregivers, if you're a runner or walker, we would love to have you as a part of the team of Angels for your Captain!

Captain Greenlee Greenlee is an energetic 6 year old who has endured more in her short life than many of us have in our lifetime. Greenlee suffers from left side weakness resulting from a traumatic brain injury caused by a car accident in April 2015. She has learned to walk again and continues therapy twice a week to strengthen her leg muscles and regain use of her left arm and hand. She is so strong and courageous, but struggles with the fear of others laughing or trying to overcome nervousness when performing a task that comes easy to her peers. She loves playing t-ball, riding a bike and most recently joined a swim team where therapy won't feel so much like work.
Captain Kendall Kendall lives with spina bifida and paralysis below her knees, but that doesn't stop her from enjoying everything this world has to offer! Captains Teneia and Tenoia These two wonderful girls are twin sisters! While they both battle cerebral palsy each day, they always have a huge smile on their faces. They both love music and their iPhones. Their mom and dad are their biggest cheerleaders! The love that this family shares is monumental. These two twins have been with us since the very start, too!
