What is an Angel? “Angels” are the able-bodied athletes that will assist (push, pull, and/or pedal) their “Captain” (individual with physical-limitations) through the endurance events!
What’s it like being an Angel? We are thrilled that you’re interested in being an Angel! Your role as an Angel will be to assist your Captain throughout the day of the race. This will include helping buckle your Captain into their specialized racing wheelchair, assisting your Captain to the starting line, pushing/pulling/pedaling your Captain during the race, and attending the recognition/medal ceremony with your Captain after the race.
"myTEAM TRIUMPH - Georgia" strives to provide the best experience for our Captains. It should be emphasized that the safety of your Captain will be your primary responsibility. As Angels, you will not be racing for yourself, but rather, for the enjoyment and experience of your Captain.
How do I register as an Angel for a specific event? To get started, visit our "Upcoming Events" tab, select your region, and then select the event(s) you would like to participate in! A fundraising page will be automatically generated for you. DO NOT REGISTER through the official race website. Our Captains are the reason we run, and as such, Angels do not always receive the race bib, race day t-shirt, or a timing chip.
Angel Fundraising There is a minimum fundraising requirement to register to serve as an Angel for each racing event.myTEAM TRIUMPH - Georgia utilizes these funds to sponsor the Captain's race entry fee, to provide the Captain their very own VIP - myTEAM TRIUMPH T-shirt, and to purchase breakfast on race morning. The purpose of the fundraising is also to raise awareness for myTEAM TRIUMPH - Georgia, our Captains, their stories, and their successes through our non-profit organization. We do offer some amazing incentives for those individuals that raise amounts higher than the minimum. These incentives support local businesses and are described further on your fundraising pages.
